Thöne Family

Karl Thöne dedicated some of his works to his four children: Juliane, Karl Stefan, Jost, and Veronika.

He wrote the composition ‘AKINOREV’ I and II for his youngest daughter Veronika for her solo viola Jugend Musiziert competition and her final viola exam. The ‘Rhapsody’86’ was composed for his son Jost’s viola exam.

His daughter Juliane released a CD with her recorder ensemble ‘Springflute,’ including a work by her father. In 1998, another CD was produced by his son Jost  featuring four of his chamber music compositions. The performers on this CD included violinist Shin-Kyung Kim, violist Matthias Buchholz, cellist Young-Chang Cho, and violist Veronika Thöne.
